Leche Flan (フィリピンデザート)

Last time, I made a Filipino dessert called "Leche Flan" (レチェプラン). It's a creme caramel version of Philippines that made of egg yolks, condensed milk & fresh milk. It also has a layer of caramelized sugar that turns into syrup after cooking them together. Vanilla extract and key lime or calamansi zest are also commonly added to brighten flavor and cut through the richness of the dessert. Leche flan is a sweet dish traditionally served as dessert at parties, fiestas, and other special occasions. It is similar and look exactly the same to creme caramel. However, most creme caramel recipes call for the tradition of cream, Filipino Leche Flan does not. The latter also uses condensed milk instead of just sugar. The Leche Flan is richer while creme caramel has a light texture.
